Cache la Poudre River Series

The solo exhibition, Recordings From the Cache la Poudre River, is a response to the health of the river.  Like most waterways around the world, the Cache la Poudre River is becoming more contaminated through human interference.  The installment included four lithographs created from the river water/tusche solution pourings.  Accompanying the lithographs is an arrangement of hanging willow branches collected from the banks of the River.  When Spring flow occurs and the water is running high, the willow braches act as a recording device, capturing natural and man-made debris, mostly small pieces of plastic. While the branches are visually beautiful they display an ever-increasing environmental problem: water pollution, thus emphasizing the harm in which humans impose on ecosystems.
