Property Line Series

The New Terra work led to the exploration of a new body of work titled Property Lines.  This series reflects the notion that we, humans, “own” parcels of the earth.  Although we have ownership of the land, it is really ours to own? With population and land ownership growth, the landscape continues to be divided into smaller and smaller parcels.  Boundary lines are constantly being transformed. Additionally, like the New Terra Series, it references the fact that property is always at the mercy of nature.  The Property Lines prints were initially created from India Ink drawings on glass that were then printed to create monotypes. India Ink was used because of its natural aqueous pattern mimics geological configurations.  The India Ink aerial terrain inspired the monotypes.  The monotypes were then imported and digitally altered to create boundary line shapes.  The digitally altered images were press printed through the Polyester Plate Lithography process.
