Boundary Layer project

9/19/2016

Artist Shandra Mclane and I went to the base of Mt. Washington last week to observe the Boundary Layer Project led by Eric Kesley (Director of Research, Mt. Washington Observatory and Assistant Professor, Plymouth State University). Kelsey and his research team are working on defining the boundary layer in the valley around Mt. Washington to the summit and above. Shani and I walked away with a better understanding of the project and ideas for our collaborative art piece that will be exhibited at the Museum of the White Mountains in Spring 2017.   The exhibition focuses on climate change and water impact.

The truck is loaded up for Kelsey and his team to drive to the summit, the instruments attached to the truck will collect data as the truck travels up in elevation.
